In a time when the world is collectively experiencing the same thing, It’s hard to hear each individual story. The purpose of this project is to share the story of individual business owners in downtown Astoria during the shutdown caused by the pandemic. The lights may be off; we may have locked doors and closed signs; however, there are still ways to help us during this time. Good to Go Opened August 2017.

Good to Go has been opened since
August 2017. Their business has always been a to-go lunch counter serving up homemade soups, salads, and other noshings so there hasn’t been a lot of changes in that aspect.
Since Corona virus, Heidi and Dan have added online ordering with curbside pick-up and delivery and have changed some items on the menu. They collaborated with a few other businesses for the first few weeks and really enjoyed the team effort, but since have moved onto offering they service themselves.

They say “this is our life. It’s where we spend the majority of our days. It’s where we feel best. It’s why we have to sacrifice seeing our families regularly. It’s why our dog doesn’t get enough time with us. It’s our blood, sweat and tears. It’s where we get to interact with amazing people. It’s everything to us.”

Like most other businesses the unknown is the scary part, but living in this amazing community has made it better. If you have talked to Dan then you know he never has a bad day.
